Kazimierz Karolczak, President of the Board
He is the President of the Board of Metropolis GZM, the first metropolis in Poland. He coordinates work related to implementation of the Metropolis’ statutory tasks. Before he joined the Board, he was the Deputy Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship. In that role, he was responsible for issues related to e.g. the European Social Fund and Environmental Protection and Water Management. In 1999-2003, he ran his own business, and afterwards, in 2003, he established one of the first employment agencies in Poland. In 2007, he sold the company to an international investor. It boasted more than PLN 50 million in revenues, and was responsible for employing and delegating nearly 3 thousand employees.
Grzegorz Podlewski, Vice-President of the Board
In his role on the Board of Metropolis GZM, he is responsible for matters related to socio-economic development and cooperation. He has been working in the energy industry for years. In 2008-2016, he was the President of ZEW Niedzica, a water plant complex owned by the State Treasury. From July 2016 to the end of 2017, he cooperated with the City Hall in Tychy where he provided advice on matters related to the power industry, he also represented the city in the Electromobility Programme.
Danuta Kamińska, Vice-President of the Board
In her role on the Board of Metropolis GZM, she is responsible for matters related to strategy, analysis and spatial planning. Before she joined the Board, she worked for many years (2001-2017) as the City Treasurer of Katowice. Additionally, she has been involved in doing social work for the benefit of local government for many years. Danuta Kamińska was awarded with the Golden Cross of Merit and the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta by the President of the Republic of Poland.
Grzegorz Kwitek, Member of the Board
In his role on the Board of Metropolis GZM, he is responsible for matters related to transport and communication, as well as public procurement. In 2016-2017, he was the director of the Municipal Office in Gliwice. In 2013, he became also the head of the Public Procurement Department. As the director, he was responsible for the proper functioning of the Office. His creativity helped to introduce uniform software which was later used in the process of awarding public contracts by all municipal units.
Karolina Wadowska, Member of the Board
On the Board of Metropolis GZM, she is responsible for implementation of tasks related to projects and investments. Before she joined the Board, she was linked professionally to the Technological and Industrial Park EkoPark in Piekary Śląskie, where, in 2015-2017, she worked as the President of the Board. During her tenure, EkoPark’s revenues increased by 42% in 2016.
